CPA File Manager

Job Context

The CPA File Manager assumes full responsibility for managing accounting and tax engagements for a varied client portfolio. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, the ability to supervise a team, and maintaining solid client relationships. You act as the primary point of contact for your clients and actively contribute to the firm's development.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients and support their financial growth
• Supervise and review the work of accounting technicians and interns
• Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns (T2, TP-600)
• Review individual tax returns, including incorporated business owners and professionals
• Plan and coordinate year-end engagements while meeting deadlines
• Advise clients on accounting, tax, and business matters
• Ensure file compliance with current accounting standards and regulations
• Occasionally participate in business development and client retention
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the firm's processes and tools

Desired Profile

• CPA designation obtained or in progress
• 3 to 7 years of experience in an accounting firm
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards applicable to private and publicly listed companies, and Canadian tax
• Good knowledge of individual tax, particularly for incorporated business owners and professionals
• Experience in team supervision and engagement management
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to simplify complex concepts
• Sense of responsibility, autonomy, and leadership
• Proficiency in tax software (TaxCycle, ImpôtExpert, Taxprep, CaseWare, or equivalent)
• Ability to work with artificial intelligence tools (e.g., assisted file review, workflow automation)

Additional Assets

• Experience in a mid-sized or large accounting firm
• In-depth knowledge of corporate and individual tax in Quebec
• Skills in supporting SMEs in growth or transition contexts
